It is of the utmost importance to us at Sandbox that we make the space as accessible as possible, to as many people as possible. Here are our current accommodations:
- We have flat access through the library. At the side door there is a small step; our volunteer Snoof, who uses a wheelchair, has no issues getting past it using either a powerchair or a manual chair, but the slope up to the door is a bit steep so it may be worth coming in through the library and then exploring the side door separately.
- We have toilets which are large enough to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair, but there are no changing facilities on site.
- We have worked with many neurodiverse people, and we can provide a quiet place in case anyone gets overwhelmed or needs some time alone.
- Our equipment is as accessible as possible, located mostly on desks and largely moveable where necessary. Our laser cutter has a glass window at the front so wheelchair users are able to watch for fires, and our hot water urn is equally conveniently located.
If you need other accommodations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs. Snoof is multiply disabled and committed to providing accommodations to as many people as possible. We’re excited to help you use our space!
